Parking for residents

Every apartment in Charter Quay is assigned a private parking bay for exclusive use by the resident or their visitor.

Parking for visitors

To arrange additional parking, you will need to borrow a bay from another resident. No other parking solutions are available.

There are three ways to borrow a bay:

  1. Make a private arrangement with a neighbour.

  2. Ask the concierge if one of the parking bays donated to them for key workers and tradesmen is available for your visitor.

  3. Join the residents’ bay sharing group.

If no visitor parking is available, your guest will have to find parking elsewhere. The Rose Car Park is a two-minute drive away, and the entrance is in East Lane (KT1 2NN).

If you regularly provide your parking bay to the concierge, please continue to do so, rather than offering it in the bay sharing group.

For others, on the occasions your bay is going to be available for many days or weeks, please consider offering it to the concierge for them to manage in your absence.

Bay sharing

Bay sharing is intended to help residents find parking for guests visiting for shorter periods of time, rather than the more urgent or long-term requests the concierge regularly deal with. By residents helping each other in this way, it removes some of the parking related pressures the concierge regularly deals with.

When you require a bay for a visitor, ask in the bay sharing group, stating the time and duration a bay is required.

If your bay is available to share, respond directly to a request that aligns with your bay's availability.

Everybody can see requests and responses, so there can be little doubt as to what was agreed. Residents who cause a nuisance by allowing their visitor to overstay the agreed time may be removed from the bay sharing group.

If nobody responds, visitor parking is not currently available and your guest will have to find parking elsewhere.

If you find somebody parking in your bay without permission, please inform the concierge. They will make a request to the parking control contractor to issue a parking charge notice.

Wadbrook Street / service area

Parking in Wadbrook Street and the service road is limited to authorised vehicles only; prioritising deliveries, tradesmen, carers, doctors and other essential services. Vehicles that are parked without authorisation from the concierge will be issued with a parking charge notice.

If you are regularly visited by a carer, please register their car details with Marek or the concierge.

Parking control

Parking control at Charter Quay is managed by PESS, an external contractor. Charter Quay does not pay for this service, neither does it earn any revenue from it. Our primary concern is the control of our roads and car parks in this busy town centre location.
